We have brought them back as a new app - Music Speed Changer (Classic) - basically what it was before it was switched to use Elastique.

I think it's a good idea and many have requested, will think about it for the future.
I'd consider working with someone on another new music/audio app if you're already an Android developer - write me at musicspeedchanger@gmail.com
If you mean its plays for perhaps a bit and then suddenly stops (notification disappears) without a crash message when it's in the background, it's due to the overly aggressive OOM (Out of Memory) killer in some devices with some versions of Android…
We are already working on the equalizer with preamp and balance control. It's going to be awesome you will be able to embed some or all of the components in the main player screen or view them in a separate screen.
It's in the beta version: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.smp.musicspeed . For Android 4.4+ flac, ogg, mp4, 3gp no longer grayed out in Google Drive, Audio, or Downloads. Will be in production version in a couple days.
Right now MSC is requesting audio/* MIME types (which should be all audio files). For some unknown reason Google Drive does not consider flac (and a couple other types) an audio file, if you go in the Drive app it does not show the audio icon next t…
There have been some options added to deal with playback problems on a small number of devices that aren't configured very well. Trying "Disable fast mixer" in Settings is a good place to start.
Seek buttons are going to added in the next update, with adjustable initial increment and gradual speed up when buttons are held. Sign up for beta version if you want to get it early, probably by next Monday the beta will be released.
Not sure if this is the problem you were having but the latest update 6.1.1 added a -3 dB headroom to avoid clipping, with option to adjust. The clipping we reproduced wasn't a constant thing though, only on loud tracks and when doing negative pitch…
6.1 beta version is now opening 3gp files. They would have to be selected from "Choose a File" picker, as the other options are limited to what the what the system considers audio files.
There is no way to do it, though you may be able to find old versions at sites that cache old versions of apps. However, I think I addressed your concern from your other posts.
The feature is still there, in Settings. It's moved there because before people would hit it by accident, and think the independent control had been removed permanently (?)
Hello. Perhaps you were used to artifacts that the other libraries added to the signal. Before it was decided to use elastique we A/B'd extensively with the old libraries. It has significantly less coloration of the sound in most cases than Superpow…
Hello, it would do this for mp3's which are encoded with MPEG-2 Audio Layer III, they would typically be mp3's with a low sampling rate such as 16000 Hz, 22050 Hz or 24000 Hz or low kbps. It did this for the Superpowered engine in previous versions …
Beta 6.0 is 8MB download, it has some unused libraries, I believe it can be reduced by 1-2 MB, but no more. There is a lot that goes into it such as a separate decoder/demuxer for each of the many file types it can open.
Opus and mp4 files will open from the "Choose a File" dialog in 6.1 beta version. The other options in the side menu won't let you select them because they're limited to what the system considers audio files.
The beta version exports to MP3, changed from m4a because many people requested. Wav option is possibility, it will export really fast too, encoding to lossy format is what takes the most time.
