Yes, it is where the ads go. There must be some padding between the ad and the app to follow admob rules and that is what the black strip showing is. If you remove ads, the black bar goes away entirely.

There have been some options added to deal with playback problems on a small number of devices that aren't configured very well. Trying "Disable fast mixer" in Settings is a good place to start.

Not sure if this is the problem you were having but the latest update 6.1.1 added a -3 dB headroom to avoid clipping, with option to adjust. The clipping we reproduced wasn't a constant thing though, only on loud tracks and when doing negative pitch…

New version (6.1.0) will no longer convert any mp3 files (or any type) to wav first. Only time a wav file is used is for reversing the audio.
